A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US

Welcome to Trefriw Outdoors. The aim of this website is to promote our village and its environs as well as being a useful resource for residents and visitors alike. Trefriw is situated right at the heart of the Conwy Valley and is surrounded by the most verdant, scenic countryside. This most pleasant location lends itself benevolently to some of the most popular outdoor activities for all age groups including cycling and walking.

It’s not just our splendid scenery that appeals. We have all kinds of cycle routes for every kinds of cyclist – seriously steep mountain challenges and gentle forest trails, long-distance road routes and short trips along designated paths. Trefriw prides itself on our cyclist-friendly hotels and guest houses, camp sites and caravan parks where you can park your bike for the night - check out our accommodation page here, and our refreshment page here.

And for those who prefer an adrenalin rush and muddy mayhem to Tarmac there are several worldclass mountain bike trails and centres in our forests and big, imposing rocky mountains - check out our MTB page here.

A scenic cycling route that follows the River Conwy as it wends its way from Conwy to Betws y Coed along rural B-roads. Cycle out of Conwy and travel near to the River Conwy up the valley and through several Welsh villages, including Trefriw, to Betws y Coed on the edge of The Snowdonia National Park. Either follow the same route back, or catch the train to Llandudno Junction just a mile over the bridge from Conwy. The route is approximately 15 miles (24 km) one way with a couple of big climbs at the start and end of the route.

The route will give you the chance to enjoy some stunning and varied countryside and as you pedal along the valley floor you can gaze up at the mountains or across the River Conwy on to the flatter flood plains. Road surfaces are ideal for both the leisure rider and for those who prefer more of an energetic sprint.

The village of Trefriw will provide an excellent stop off where you can enjoy light refreshments and a well-earned break.
