Welcome to Trefriw Outdoors. The aim of this website is to promote our village and its environs as well as being a useful resource for residents and visitors alike. Trefriw is situated right at the heart of the Conwy Valley and is surrounded by the most verdant, scenic countryside. This most pleasant location lends itself benevolently to some of the most popular outdoor activities for all age groups including cycling and walking.

On our doorstep - The Marin Trail

The Marin Trail is one of the 'musts' of North Wales for any serious mountain biker. The trail is a true classic with big climbs, big descents, singletrack - and fabulous views of the Snowdonia mountains along the way. Most of the climbs are on forest roads and tracks and all of the descents are on singletrack The singletack varies from very tight, technical and rocky to open and flowing, from dark forest to exposed ridgelines. The trail is 16 miles (25km) long and climbs to 450m. Start the trail at the Saw Bench car park in the Gwydyr Forest. (More)


Antur Stiniog (Blaenau Ffestiniog) offers some of the best downhill biking trails and uplift service in Wales, some even say in the world! Antur is a state of the art fully equipped downhill centre complete with café, shop, showers and bike wash. They also offer mountain bike coaching to riders of all levels, from beginner to expert, to trail riders, to downhill racers.

There is also a new adventure centre set on the stunning shores of Llyn Trawsfynydd which can be custom made to suit you and can include activities such as mountain biking, hiking, kayaking and bush craft to name a few. (More)

On our doorstep - Antur Stiniog

The Penmachno Trails are the hidden gem of North Wales mountain biking; 30km of super-sweet single-track and scenic forest trail, riding high through Snowdonia National Park.

The trails are split into two loops, which can be ridden individually or as one amazing 30km ride. Be warned, if you do ride the complete circuit, just as you get your breath back from the descents on Loop 1 the views on Loop 2 will take it away again! (More)
