Watersports

‘They never said it would be easy.
They said it would be worth it.’

Trefriw lies at the heart of an area surrounded by stunning lakes and rivers, many of which offer endless opportunities for those wishing to enjoy watersports of all kinds. Right on our doorstep we have the scenic Llyn Geirionydd, a beautiful lake set in the heart of the Gwydyr Forest, which is a favourite for boaters. Canoeing, kayaking and rafting, for sport or recreation, is readily available throughout Snowdonia, from gentle introductions to the wildest white water experiences and toughest challenges.
Other ‘local’ watersports lakes include Llynnau Mymbyr near Capel Curig, Llyn Trawsfynydd, Llyn Padarn near Llanberis and Llyn Brenig near Cerrigydrudion.
Important notice of the legal situation regarding paddling: Many inland waters especially the smaller, upland rivers and lakes are privately owned. You must have permission to enter the water -
