Activities Home

The Conwy Valley and the surrounding area has fast become the adventure playground in Wales. Within a very small radius you will have access to activities on land, water, in the air and underground. Trefriw is well renowned as the centre for a great variety of walks (see our Trefriw Trails page) which include leisurely ‘flat’ walks to the more energetic hikes into the hills and forests surrounding the village. Our two lakes (Geirionydd and Crafnant) offer a whole host of water-based activities including paddling, power boating, sailing, fly fishing and waterside recreation. The superb Marin Mountain Bike Trail is a 2 minute drive from the centre of Trefriw.  The nearby village of Dolgarrog (5 minutes drive) is home to Surf Snowdonia, a unique experience for surfers and spectators. The village of Betws Y Coed (10 minute drive) is home to the high ropes centre which will appeal to all the family. Slightly further out (20 minute drive) and you have access to the Penmachno Mountain Bike trail which takes in the most stunning views of the Snowdonia Mountains. Blaenau Ffestiniog has now become the Mecca for serious Downhill Mountain Biking (Antur Stiniog) and the popular Zip World, Bounce Below and Zip World Caverns. And after all the thrills and excitement, you can return to Trefriw to rest your head in one of our friendly hostelries, guest houses or hotel.
